Why do I enjoy watches?

The question is easy to answer. In 1938, my father invented the first portable quartz watch that could be worn by three strong men. It was kept in our basement and provided the time signal for radio broadcasts. We would sit in front of it and synchronize it with the time signal for the evening news at 8 p.m. The clock was slightly off… It bothered me terribly that it couldn’t be done better. That was my introduction to the world of watches.
